Turn Back, the band's third studio album is a return to a classic sextet format, and a more consistent, stronger effort that had a more grittier edge. Its more punk-rock sound was indicative of the maturation of group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity on drums, and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams.
